Many đi với danh từ đếm được số nhiều, much đi với danh từ không đếm được, chủ yếu trong câu phủ định và nghi vấn. A lot of/lots of dùng với cả hai loại, nhất là trong câu khẳng định.

Many is used with countable nouns and much with uncountable nouns, mainly in negatives and questions. A lot of and lots of are used with both types, especially in positive statements.
