Possessive 's and s'

Sở hữu cách 's thêm vào danh từ số ít (kể cả tên) và danh từ số nhiều bất quy tắc; danh từ số nhiều có -s chỉ thêm dấu '. Với vật thường dùng of (the back of the computer). Dùng 's/s' trong cụm thời gian như an hour's wait.

The possessive 's is added to singular nouns (including names) and to irregular plurals not ending in -s. Regular plural nouns just add an apostrophe. For most things (not people or animals) we use of.

Possession by people and animals
Time expressions (an hour's wait, ten minutes' time)
Group nouns and company names (the company's finances)
Of for things (the back of the computer)

4Quy tắc cần nhớ

Names ending in -s can take 's or just an apostrophe (Charles's / Charles')
With a phrase, the 's goes at the end (the President of France's visit)
With several owners the 's goes on the last name when ownership is shared
